SPORTS & ACTIVITIES
Beyond the Classroom
Education at Mlomotsha School of Excellence extends beyond the classroom. We believe students grow through experiences that challenge them physically, intellectually, socially and creatively.
Our sports and activities program gives students opportunities to discover talents, develop confidence, build friendships and represent their school. Participation also teaches important values such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, leadership and respect.
We want every student to find an activity in which they can participate, contribute and grow.
SPORTS
Compete. Participate. Grow.
Sport is an important part of student life at Mlomotsha. Students are encouraged to participate regardless of whether they are experienced athletes or simply discovering a new sport.
Through training and competition, students learn teamwork, perseverance, self-discipline and how to respond positively to both victory and disappointment.
Our sporting activities include opportunities in football, girls football, netball, athletics and other school sports, with students participating recreationally as well as representing Mlomotsha in competition.
For us, success in sport is measured not only by trophies, but also by the character developed along the way.
DEBATE, PUBLIC SPEAKING & ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS
Finding Your Voice
We want Mlomotsha students to be able to think clearly, express their ideas confidently and engage respectfully with the ideas of others.
Debate, public speaking, spelling competitions and other academic activities provide opportunities for students to develop these abilities outside the formal classroom.
Students learn to research, construct arguments, speak before an audience and think under pressure. Competitions also give them opportunities to meet and compete with students from other schools.
These experiences help develop articulate young people who are prepared to lead, communicate and participate confidently in the wider world.
LEADERSHIP, CULTURE & COMMUNITY
Developing Character and Responsibility
Student life at Mlomotsha is also about learning to serve, lead and belong.
Through student leadership, cultural activities, school events and community initiatives, students are encouraged to take responsibility and contribute to something larger than themselves.
Our activities provide opportunities to celebrate identity and heritage while developing respect for other cultures and perspectives. As an international school, we want our students to be culturally grounded and globally minded.
Leadership at Mlomotsha is therefore not simply about holding a title. It is about learning responsibility, service, integrity and the ability to positively influence others.
CLUBS, EXPLORATION & DISCOVERY
Discovering New Interests
Some of the most memorable learning experiences happen when students encounter something completely new.
Clubs and enrichment activities allow Mlomotsha students to explore interests beyond their regular subjects. Opportunities in astronomy, science, technology and other areas of interest encourage curiosity, creativity and independent discovery.
Our astronomy activities are particularly distinctive. Through the Mlomotsha Observatory and telescope-based activities, students can experience the night sky firsthand and develop an appreciation for scientific exploration.
As the school continues to grow, we intend to expand the range of clubs and activities available so that students have even more opportunities to explore, create, lead and discover.
